Salary Range:           $11.60 - $12.35 per hour

Schedule:                  Less than 21 hours per week, including evening and weekend hours (Present date till mid-April required two out of three shifts on Monday 4:00 pm till 9:00 pm, Wednesday 4:00 pm till 9:00 pm, and Thursday 4:00 pm till 9:00 pm)

Typical Duties:

• Installs and maintains upgrades for computer software, hardware, and other peripheral equipment at the Library and on the Bookmobile.
• Responds to user problems with software, hardware, and peripherals – troubleshoots and corrects problems
• Assists with maintenance of servers, including tape backups, Windows updates, and anti-virus software
• Assists with maintenance of network equipment
• Works with staff from all library departments
• Develops documentation
• Performs related duties as required

Required Qualifications and Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Currently enrolled in a college program studying Information Technology is highly preferred
• Experience with Windows XP and Windows 7, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008, Microsoft Office suite
• Experience working with a local area network
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and correct computer problems
• Excellent organization skills as well as written and oral communications skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and assume responsibility
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, supervisors and the public
• Ability and skill to adapt to changing procedures and situations
• Dependable and flexible work habits
• Ability to clearly explain technical terms and concepts in plain English
• Physically able to lift and move computers and peripherals, occasionally up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stoop, bend, and reach
