The
Rochester Junior Woman's Club (RJWC) was founded here in 1956. We
are a fascinating group of women whose mission statement calls Since our inception, the Rochester Junior Woman's club has donated more than 1 million hours of community service and raised more than $760,000 to support our local community. Historically, our members were instrumental in founding many pieces of the Rochester Community and helped it develop into what it is today. The Rochester Community House, Crittenton Hospital, the Rochester Hills Public Library, the Rochester YMCA, the Older Persons Commission and the League of Women Voters were all started with the support of RJWC members. Today, we continue the tradition of serving our community by providing funds and hands-on volunteering. The Paint Creek Center for the Arts, Special Olympics, the Older Persons Commission, and Dinosaur Hill Nature Center receive a great deal of support, in a variety of ways. We have helped mastectomy patients by providing funds for the Crittenton Hospital Auxiliary. Over the past few years our fund-raisers have benefited the restoration of Meadow Brook Hall, Rochester Heritage Festival, Paint a Miracle, Meals on Wheels, South Oakland Shelter, Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm, Meadow Brook Hall Garden Club, Blessings in a Backpack, Rochester PTA Council’s Rachel’s Challenge Program and the Stoney Creek Schoolhouse Interpretation at the Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm. Fund-raisers from this year will benefit the OPC and other local charities. Our organization
is proud to contribute so much to our community and we give to each
other the gift of friendship and caring, true fellowship and support.
There is so much more we can do together!
