Rochester Junior Woman’s Club Presents 
New Club Officers for 2008-2009

                                                                                         

Rochester , MI July 21, 2008 

The Rochester Junior Woman’s Club recently celebrated the installation of their 2008-2009 officers with a dinner at Meadow Brook Hall.  The club also welcomed 5 new members: Carole Fogolini, Jenna Torzewski, Cinda Rice, Trisha Gamble and Patricia Reyes

 The slate of officers for the 2008-2009 year are President Toni Wiley, President-Elect Michelle Vitale, Vice-President Monique Anthus, Corresponding Secretary Lynn Marie Oates, Recording Secretary Jan Tullis and Treasurer, Jane Wismans.  

Outstanding members were recognized for Volunteer of the Year Michelle Vitale, Clubwoman of the Year Maria Jung and Ms. Federation Pat Bruneel.  

In addition, Ms. Federation 2007-2008, Pat Bruneel, was honored by Renee Horist, President of GFWC – Michigan, for her volunteer activities.  

At the club’s year end, RJWC was happy to announce that they had donated over $30,000 to various charities within the community.  

They are currently preparing for their annual Art and Apples booth which will be serving their famous festival favorites; fresh lemonade and apple blossoms along with a bake sale tent which will be new this year. In addition, their 10th annual Lobster Boil to be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 and will benefit Rainbow Connection Special Response Program, Rochester Area Neighborhood House – Food Pantry, OPC and other local charities.

General Info on RJWC:
Contributing to the growth and vitality of the community is the core of the Rochester Junior Woman’s Club.  Founded in 1956, RJWC currently has approximately seventy-five woman who are committed to serving the needs of the community. In the last 50 years, they have donated half of a million hours of community service and more than $600,000 to community charities and organizations.  

General info on Charities:  

Meadow Brook Hall Garden Club, dedicated to preserving, maintaining and enhancing the 16 gardens and 42 urns surrounding the hall.  

Rochester Hills Museum at Van Hoosen Farm, interprets, preserves and collects the history of the greater Rochester area for present and future generations including the restoration of the 1927 calf barn which will be use for archival storage.  

South Oakland Shelter addresses issues impacting the homeless by providing shelter, meals and case management services for individuals and families.
