The Port Huron and Northern Railroad follows the route from Port Huron to Saginaw and is connected to GTW at both ends. The route is Port Huron, Brown City, Marlette, Montrose, Bert, Saginaw.
After just 6 months of construction, the Port Huron and Northern's Golden Spike ceremony was held on October 5, 2004 when Al hosted a monthly meeting of the Stoney Creek Model Railroad Club. A plaque was given to Al by the club to commemorate this moment.
Al's G-scale layout was taken down in the Summer of 2004. It is fondly remembered here.
Al and his wife are Master Gardeners, so its no wonder he's combined his love of trains with his love of gardens. Al's layout is a G-scale garden railroad, located in his front yard in Harbor Beach. Most locomotives are equipped with sound decoders. Al makes his own rubber molds and casts urethane walls for buildings. Every year during the summer, Al has the whole club up to his place for a picnic and large scale railroading.
