Joel had his mainline up and running before asking a friend and Stoney Creek member for advice on the rest of the track plan. The result was the removeal of all the track and half the bench work, but the new track plan will be very operations friendly. Joel's new track plan includes a double ended 6 track staging yard that will store two trains on each track. The M&K branch line will run up to a coal mine. There will be a large yard at the mid point of the main line and this will create enough action to keep 6 operators busy. The scenery will include plenty of bridges and elevation changes.
Joel is powering all the turnouts in his hidden staging yard. The control plannels, complete with bi-color LEDs, are pictured bellow. The small bread boards on the back of the pannel contain all the resisters needed to drop the voltage to both the motor and the LEDs. These boards were a major help in reducing the number of wires in the pannel.
