eBooks & Virtual Services from RHPL

  • eBooks from Overdrive - eBooks from Overdrive. Click here to see all downloadable material.
  • eAudioBooks from Overdrive - Download ebooks and eaudiobooks to your computer or mobile device. You may download up to 10 books per library card. The books return automatically and there are no overdue fines!
  • Freading eBooks - Recommended for black & white Nook/Sony/Kobo eReader users - or iPad & Android tablet users. These EPUB books are always available and are checked out for two weeks by default.
  • Gale Virtual Reference Library - Search across dozens of specialized encyclopedias and award winning reference sources in diverse subject areas including business, education, environment, history, law, health and medicine, multicultural studies, religion, science, and more. (RHPL library card is required to use this service).
  • EBSCO eBook Collection - Choose from a comprehensive collection of eBooks for all of your research and informational requirements, including topics such as computer programming, business, history, medicine, and more. Each of these books can be read on your computer or mobile device with no need to download special software. (RHPL library card is required to use this service).
  • Internet Archive - Access to books from libraries and research centers from all around the globe. RHPL is also a proud member library!
  • TumbleBook Library - Online collection of animated, talking picture books that are designed to encourage the joy of reading in young children. (RHPL library card is required to use this service).
  • Tumblebooks Cloud - Online read-along collection of early readers, middle school books, teen books, and classics. (RHPL library card is required to use this service).
  • Project Gutenberg - Volunteer effort to digitize and archive cultural works in order to "encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks." It was founded in 1971 by Michael S. Hart - and is the oldest digital library.

  • Playaways - Don't have your own portable device for eAudioBooks? Check out these pre-loaded players from the main library!
  • TumbleBooks - An online collection of animated, talking picture-books for kids. RHPL library card required to use this service).
  • Tumble Readables - Online readalong collection of early readers, middle school books, teen books, and classics (RHPL library card required to use this service).
  • Free SYNC Audiobooks - SYNC offers 2 FREE teen audiobooks weekly during the summer. Sign up for email or text alerts that invite you to download the new titles as they become available.
