RCS Student Library Cards

RCS Students and Parents,
As you may know, students in Rochester Community Schools are automatically issued a Rochester Hills Public Library (RHPL) card at enrollment.
In an effort to standardize barcodes and assist educators who do not have access to RHPL records, RCS student library barcodes are now their student ID, and no longer the traditional library number that begins with 2315. You can find this ID number in the StudentVue or ParentVue app. You can now use this number to check out books, log into accounts and public computers, and download digital materials.
We understand that these changes might present challenges for some families. To help alleviate some stress, we have included your original RHPL barcode in your library account. The RCS ID is the best and easiest way to access your account and library materials, but your original RHPL number can still be used by staff to assist you.
If you would like a physical card with your RCS student ID number, you can stop by the circulation desk during your next visit, and staff will issue you an updated card at no cost.
We appreciate your patience as we work to make RHPL card access a more sustainable and easy-to-use process for teachers, students, and parents. These changes will ensure that RCS students have access to books, research materials, and homework help at RHPL.
If you have any difficulties using this new ID to access library services or have questions about this change, please contact library staff at help@rhpl.org or 248-650-7160.
