RHPL is now part of Recyclebank

Did you know that your recycling can not only be good for the environment but also help the library? Through Recyclebank’s Green Schools Program, you can now donate your recycling points to the Rochester Hills Public Library! 

As part of our strategic goal to offer programs on sustainability, RHPL has partnered with the City of Rochester Hills and Recyclebank to be included among the organizations that receive donated recycling points. The points are converted into cash grants for the chosen organizations. These can be used for various green initiatives such as pollinator gardens, a composting system, and more. RHPL has chosen to put the cash grant towards new recycling bins for our public areas. The new bins will be available on each floor, and the design chosen is made in the U.S.A. using recycled materials.

Michigan Green Schools is an initiative that encourages schools and public organizations to “achieve environmental goals.” Every school within Rochester Community Schools has achieved some level of Green Schools certification by offering activities from the listed categories within its schools, with most achieving the highest level. 

So the next time you log in to your Recyclebank account, find RHPL to donate your points to help us as we strive to become greener and more sustainable! You have until Friday, October 30, 2026, to donate.
