Moving abroad, learning a new language, and immersing yourself in a new culture are challenges many in our community experience. With that in mind, our English Language Learners (ELL) Conversation Group and ELL Book Clubs provide a safe and fun place for our patrons to practice their English.

RHPL’s Outreach Services partners with five senior communities to make library materials more accessible. The library’s partners house the mini-branches, while RHPL provides the materials that patrons can check out. The mini-branches’ collections are selected and maintained by Outreach Services, with new books delivered each week.

Rochester Hills Public Library was announced as a finalist in the Clarivate Library Innovation Awards, an annual program designed to recognize and support innovation in academic, national, and public libraries worldwide, for the design of its Kids Catalog.

For the past twenty years, the bookmobile has provided books of all genres to foster literacy in the RHPL service area.

The Human Library works with organizations like RHPL to create safe places to challenge misconceptions about people, promote understanding, and prevent conflict and division. The organization has worked in 85 countries for 25 years, and provides resources to ensure that Human Libraries work in and for their own community. 

As a Family Place Library™, RHPL provides a welcoming community environment with resources to help families nurture their children's development and early learning during the critical first years of life.
