Space Horror Recommendations

Did you jump when you first saw Alien? It’s the perfect blending of horror and science fiction.
While this film didn’t jumpstart the subgenre, the popularity of space horror has steadily been building in movies and the written form. Have you seen Pandorum (2009), Life (2017), Sunshine (2007), Solaris (2002), Ash (2025), Project Gemini (2022).
Try these books. Dead Silence by S. A. Barnes where a salvage crew finds more than they expected on an abandoned luxury liner. In The Glass Garden by Jessica Levai, archaeologists on an exoplanet with a failed colony study luminescent images. Are they created or alive?
As if there aren’t enough dangers in space for a generation ship,The Scourge Between Stars by Ness Brown also has something picking off the crew. Nether Station by Kevin J. Anderson explores a wormhole with unexpected horrors left by ancient beings. This World is not Yours by Kemi Ashing-Giwa depicts a planet itself fighting back against invasive colonists. Dead Space by Kali Wallace, a murder needs solving on a claustrophobic asteroid mine.
Scream all you like.
